Last year I attended the annual Make A Promise fundraising gala produced by ARCW. It was a typical big event for ARCW with at least 1,000 people attending. Like all good fundraising operations, my attendance put me on the ARCW mailing list for fundraising appeals. Recently I received the ARCW annual appeal letter. It’s a dramatic statement of the magnitude of the services ARCW provides and the big challenges they face to meet thehealth and social service needs of people with HIV.
In my last post, I shared the annual appeal letter of AIDS Network. Today I share the ARCW appeal. Read both letters and you will understand the big difference between these two ASOs. You will also understand why a growing number of people with HIV in the Madison area are asking why we can’t have an ASO like ARCW and why the state Department of Health Services continues to deny us the comprehensive services that ARCW provides.
