An open letter to Karen Dotson:
Dear Karen:
I am perplexed by the statement you made to the Badger Herald reporter that “With all the requests and e-mails he sends us, if we responded to everything he wants, it would be like we’re working for him, you know?” Dotson said. “We just don’t have the time. It’s just an obsession, really just all this campaign is about.”
What “requests” are you referring to? What emails have I sent you? What have I publicly asked for that is out of line and so unreasonable?
Please clarify what “all the emails” consist of. My records indicate that the last direct communication I had with you via email was in August of 2008.
Also, please confirm in writing that you have not told others that I am “crazy”. Your carefully parsed words in the Badger Herald are correct–you’ve never said it directly to me, yet there are plenty of people who have come forward and shared with me the many instances where you have commented on my “mental health” by using this and other derogatory statements in a very public manner.
Why do you have to lie, Karen? Why can’t you simply stick to the issues? Why can’t you directly address the issues we have raised?
Lastly, I recognize that you don’t exclusively “work for me”. You do, however, work for the betterment of all people living with HIV/AIDS in the southern region of Wisconsin, myself included. It’s a sad testament that I have to remind you of this very basic fact.
Obfuscation and childlike personal attacks are not befitting of the AIDS Network executive director.
I look forward to hearing from you and receiving clarification on the issues raised in this letter.
Sincerely,
Greg Milward
