Last Tuesday the Centers for Disease Control and the Wisconsin Division of Public Health estimated that as many as 41% of young, black men in Milwaukee County who have sex with men are infected with HIV.

IT IS TIME TO DECLARE A PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS.

Governor Jim Doyle, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker along with State Public Health Director, Dr. Seth Foldy and Milwaukee’s Public Health Director, Bevan Baker must confront this crisis.  It’s time for our public health leaders and our elected officials to call a press conference and  give this issue the same level of attention that they were able to muster late last year with the H1N1 virus.

It’s time for this crisis to receive the same level of attention.
