Why would Rep. Pocan want to receive the Executive Director’s award from an Executive Director who called HIV advocates Embittered Dissidents, warriors in a turf battle and crazy?

One might think that a thoughtful public official would decline the award quietly not wanting to be associated with an Executive Director who slammed ACT UP and other AIDS activists.  By accepting the award does Pocan embrace the Embittered Dissident slam and make it his own?  Is he to be added to the list of those that further stigmatize the HIV/AIDS community; behaviors Karen Dotson has perfected?

He should decline the award.  It’s as simple as that.
